DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR News Release For Immediate Release: March 12, 2021 COUNTY OF KAUA‘I KAUA‘I EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ELTON USHIO, ADMINISTRATOR (808) 241-1800 Multiple road closures islandwide due to flash flooding; motorists advised to stay off roadways Due to severe flash flooding, the County of Kaua‘i is announcing various road closures islandwide. Additionally, motorists are advised to avoid roadways unless it is an emergency.  The southbound lane of Halewili Road by Kaua’i Coffee company is heavily flooded.  The intersection of Kōloa Road and Omao Road is flooded.  Kōloa Road in Old Kōloa Town is experiencing heavy flooding.  Kūhiō Highway at Kaua’i Beach Drive, southbound lane, is flooded.  Heavy flooding is occurring on Kūhiō Highway by the Marine Camp Road fronting the Wailua Golf Course.  Kōloa and Po’ipū are also experiencing heavy flooding. The county is beginning to conduct assessments of storm-affected areas across the island. If your home suffered damages due to the March flooding, please visit www.kauai.gov/kema and click on the green link “March 2021 Rain Damage/Flood Reporting” to complete a form. The information you provide will help to gather necessary data which may be used to determine whether or not certain federal aid is made available to residents of Kaua‘i and/or the State of Hawai‘i. For assistance on how to fill out the form, you may call KEMA at 241-1800. For updates on road conditions and closures, please call 241-1725. Please do not call Kaua‘i police 911 unless you have an emergency.
