Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announces one new
case of COVID-19 on March 17
LĪHU‘E – The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one case
of COVID-19 on Wednesday, March 17.
Today’s case is an adult female visitor whose source of infection is related to mainland travel.
All active cases are in isolation. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and
offered testing.
Today’s case brings the number of active cases to one, with 218 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s
cumulative case count includes 186 confirmed locally, one probable, and 31 positive cases diagnosed
elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
