Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announces one new
case of COVID-19 on March 19
LĪHU‘E – The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one case
of COVID-19 on Friday, March 19.
Today’s case is a male visitor whose source of infection is related to mainland travel and was
identified via the Enhanced Movement Quarantine or “Resort Bubble” post-travel test program.
All active cases are in isolation. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and
offered testing.
Today’s case brings the number of active cases to two, with 219 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s
cumulative case count includes 187 confirmed locally, one probable, and 31 positive cases diagnosed
elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
