Police apprehend suspect who stole vehicle from Garden Island Auto Sales
LĪHUʿE – Kaz Alcos, a 32-year-old Līhuʿe man, was arrested Tuesday after stealing a vehicle from
Garden Island Auto Sales.
A report was made around 10 a.m. that a 2016 silver Ford van had been stolen from the Līhuʿe
car dealership.
Officers spotted the vehicle and the suspect around 2 p.m. while on patrol in Līhuʿe.
A pursuit began which encompassed several sites in Līhuʿe and Nāwiliwili.
The suspect abandoned the stolen vehicle near Guardian Self Storage in Nāwiliwili, and fled on
foot, but was apprehended soon thereafter near the Kauaʿi Athletic Club.
Alcos was arrested and charged with two counts of Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle,
Resisting an Order to Stop a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree and Reckless Driving.
He is currently in cellblock and is being held on a $17,000 bail.
Mugshot of the suspect has not yet been released.
