Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announces 1 new
case of COVID-19 on April 2
LĪHU‘E – The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one new
case of COVID-19 on Friday, April 2.
Friday’s case is an adult female resident who is a household contact of recent cases. Her source
of infection is considered travel-related.
All active cases are in isolation. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and
offered testing.
Friday’s case brings the number of active cases to eight, with 231 cumulative cases.
Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 196 confirmed locally, two probable, and 33 positive
cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
