DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR News Release For Immediate Release: May 27, 2021 COUNTY OF KAUA‘I DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TROY TANIGAWA, ACTING COUNTY ENGINEER (808) 241-4993 Lane closures for multiple sections of Kōloa Road and Maluhia Road scheduled from June 1 to June 4 KŌLOA – The Department of Public Works and Goodfellow Bros. LLC., are announcing that multiple sections of Kōloa Road and Maluhia Road are scheduled for lane closures from June 1 to June 4. Multiple sections of Kōloa Road and Maluhia Road will be under short lane closures for inspection and punch list completion work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, expect brief occasional delays at the Kōloa Road-Ala Kalanikaumaka intersection for the continued construction of the Roundabout. There will be no work on Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day. As a reminder, Ōma‘o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route and not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Ōma‘o Road. Through trucks are prohibited on Ōma‘o Road for the duration of this project. Eastbound motorists from the West Side, Kalāheo, or Lāwa‘i are recommended to take Kaumuali‘i Highway to Maluhia Road to access Kōloa and Po‘ipū. Construction of the Kōloa Road Roundabout is currently projected to be complete by July 9, 2021. The current projected project final completion date is August 27, 2021.
