Free WiFi now available at county neighborhood centers
LĪHU‘E – County officials are pleased to announce the availability of a new public access WiFi
service now located at all County of Kaua‘i neighborhood centers.
The new “County WiFi” will be accessible daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and is generally reachable
from any location within each neighborhood center or in the public areas around the building, including
the parking lots.
“It is our hope that this free public WiFi will give families and students who do not presently
have easy access to the internet, another option to help take care of online necessities like paying bills
or completing schoolwork,” said Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami. “This adds to our effort to modernize our
county services and bring digital equity to the community, especially during these current times where
the use of technology has become essential in daily life.”
To access WiFi at the neighborhood centers, search for “County WiFi” which will show among
the list of networks available if you are in the immediate vicinity of a neighborhood center. No password
or other authentication is needed.
The County of Kaua‘i neighborhood centers recently reopened to limited use for the public on
April 15. The neighborhood centers are open for classes, meetings, and trainings upon permit approval
from the Department of Parks and Recreation. COVID-19 safety guidelines are enforced at all
neighborhood centers.
