HomeMy WebLinkAboutDOWNR07262021WaterserviceshutdownreminderforHanapepeRoadPuoloRoadandAwawaRoadJuly2728 NEWS RELEASE DEPARTMENT OF WATER, COUNTY OF KAUA`I MEDIA CONTACT: JONELL KAOHELAULI’I, INFORMATION & EDUCATION SPECIALIST 245-5461| JKAOHELAULII@KAUAIWATER.ORG | FACEBOOK: @KAUAIDOW For immediate release: July 26, 2021 Water service shutdown reminder for Hanapēpē Road, Puolo Road and Awawa Road July 27-28 HANAPĒPĒ - The Department of Water (DOW) reminds customers of the overnight water service shutdown scheduled for a portion of Hanapēpē Road; from Moi Road to Awawa Road, a portion of Puolo Road; from Hanapēpē Road to Kaumuali‘i Highway and includes approximately 12 customers located at the beginning of Awawa Road in Hanapēpē. Water service will be turned off from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27 to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, weather permitting. Additionally, partial one lane road closures on Awawa Road and on Hanapēpē Road; near the intersection of Moi Road and Hanapēpē Road, will be in place. Access to Puolo Road from Hanapēpē Road and the Hanapēpē Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic during the overnight work. Flagger personnel will be in place to assist. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes when possible. Customers located in the affected service area are advised to prepare for the service shutdown by taking the following steps: • Store water to meet your needs until water service can be restored. • Notify neighbors, family and friends of the shutdown. • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heater does not empty during the shutdown. • Monitor water service announcements online via www.facebook.com/KauaiDOW.
