Tree Tunnel to close for maintenance work on Oct. 30
KŌLOA – Maluhia Road, from Kaumuali‘i Highway to Ala Kinoiki, will be closed on Saturday, Oct.
30 , from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow the Department of Public Works to conduct tree trimming and
vegetation maintenance.
During the road closure, motorists are advised to use Piko Road and Kōloa Road.
Ōma‘o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route and
not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of
Ōma‘o Road.
Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow the speed limits and all traffic signs.
