Water service shutdown scheduled in Hanapēpē at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today
HANAPĒPĒ - The Department of Water (DOW) announces an emergency water service shutdown planned for a
portion of Koko Road and Ali’i Road in Hanapēpē today, November 2, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather
permitting. Water service will be turned off for customers located on a portion of Koko Road, from the
intersection of Eleu Road to Mokihana Road, and to include customers along Ali’i Road; from Moi Road to
Mokihana Road.
DOW crews will be conducting repairs and improvements to a mainline along Ali’i Road and Koko Road.
Additionally, a one lane closure will be set in place along Ali’i Road to create a safe work zone for crews working
in the area. Flagger personnel will be on site to assist with local traffic.
Customers in the area were notified via door to door notices.
Affected customers are advised to prepare for the scheduled shutdown by taking the following steps:
Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
Notify neighbors, family and friends that may be affected by the service shutdown.
Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the outage.
