DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR News Release For Immediate Release: December 30, 2021 COUNTY OF KAUA‘I DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TROY TANIGAWA, ACTING COUNTY ENGINEER (808) 241-4993 Construction activity on Po‘ipū Road near Kōloa Elementary School scheduled from Jan. 3 to Jan. 21 KŌLOA – The Department of Public Works and Pacific Concrete Cutting and Coring Inc., are announcing that a portion of Po‘ipū Road will be under construction from Jan. 3 through Jan. 21, for the Kōloa Safe Routes to School Project. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no road work occurring during the peak traffic times for school drop-off and pick up. Motorists are advised to expect occasional delays and are reminded that the speed limit is 15 mph near Kōloa Elementary School while school is in session. The Kōloa Safe Routes to School Project involves improvements to pedestrian access to the school, including new sidewalks, crosswalks, and ADA ramps. Safe walking routes for students, parents, and pedestrians will be provided. This project is scheduled to be complete in June 2022.
