BLANE, CHIEF OF STAFF (808) 241-4900 COVID testing center holiday closures LĪHUʻE – The County of Kaua‘i reminds the public that the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall COVID-19 testing center and the mobile testing van will be closed on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Līhu‘e Pharmacy will be closed on New Year’s Day, but they will be open for free testing on Friday, Dec. 31, and Sunday, Jan. 2, by appointment only via AlohaClear.com. Wilcox Medical Center’s drive-up testing will be open Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for those with a physician’s order. COUNTY/STATE TESTING SITES The Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall free testing clinic will be closed Friday, Dec. 31., and it is closed on weekends. The clinic will resume the Monday through Friday schedule beginning Jan. 3, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Arrive anytime the clinic is open, and you will receive a ticket with a time to return for your free test. No appointment or doctor's order is necessary. Results are provided on the same day. The free mobile testing van clinic normally held in Kalāheo on Fridays will be closed on Dec. 31, returning Jan. 7, 2022. The clinic normally held in Hanalei on Saturdays will be closed Jan. 1, 2022, returning Jan. 8, 2022. The mobile van is open for free same-day testing Thursday, Dec. 30 at the Kīlauea Neighborhood Center; and Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a. It is open for walk-in testing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. The free Convention Hall and mobile testing clinics are provided by the County of Kaua‘i and Kaua‘i District Health Office. They provide free rapid PCR COVID-19 testing. Results are provided the same day. No appointments are needed. PHARMACY/HOSPITAL TESTING SITES Līhu‘e Pharmacy is open for free drive-up testing, by appointment only, now through Friday, Dec. 31. They will be closed Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, and reopen seven days a week beginning Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022. To make an appointment at Lihue Pharmacy, visit alohaclear.com. Wilcox Medical Center’s Drive-up testing is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. . A physician’s order is required for specimen collection, at this location, along with a photo ID and insurance card. It is closed on weekends. Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to noon. Enter the Emergency Department driveway located off Waimea Canyon Road to access the drive-thru. If you test positive, don’t wait for the Department of Health to call you. Isolate yourself immediately and notify anyone you’ve been in close contact with from two days prior to your symptom onset or your positive test date if you have no symptoms.
