Construction begins Dec. 8 to install a new lighting system at the Bryan J. Baptiste
Sports Complex skatepark
KAPA‘A – The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) announces that construction work to
install lighting at the skatepark at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a will begin on
Wednesday, Dec. 8.
Work hours will be Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
The skatepark at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex will close intermittently during work
hours to accommodate equipment and operation needs, and ensure the safety of the public and
employees. The skatepark will be open for public use during non-work hours, including weekends.
Officials anticipate construction to complete by late February.
Earthworks Pacific was awarded the construction contract for this project which totals
$119,000.
