HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/27/2019 Public hearing minutes on BILL 2736, BILL 2737 PUBLIC HEARING MARCH 27, 2019 A public hearing of the Council of the County of Kaua`i was called to order by Arryl Kaneshiro, Chair, Committee of the Whole, on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 1:31 p.m., at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Historic County Building, Lihu`e, and the presence of the following was noted: Honorable Mason K. Chock Honorable Felicia Cowden Honorable Luke A. Evslin Honorable KipuKai Kuali`i Honorable Arryl Kaneshiro Not Present: Honorable Ross Kagawa Excused: Honorable Arthur Brun The Clerk read the notice of the public hearing on the following: "Bill No. 2736 — A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2, ORDINANCE NO. 891, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF KAUAI FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND REFUNDING CERTAIN BONDS OF THE COUNTY; FIXING OR AUTHORIZING THE FIXING OF THE FORM, DENOMINATIONS, AND CERTAIN OTHER DETAILS OF SUCH BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR THE SALE OF SUCH BONDS TO THE PUBLIC," and "Bill No. 2737 — A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2, ORDINANCE NO. 1019, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF KAUAI FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS; FIXING OR AUTHORIZING THE FIXING OF THE FORM, DENOMINATIONS, AND CERTAIN OTHER DETAILS OF SUCH BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR THE SALE OF SUCH BONDS TO THE PUBLIC;AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF BOND ANTICIPATION NOTES; AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS AND ACTIONS PERTAINING TO THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF THE BONDS," which were ordered to print by the Council of the County of Kaua`i on February 20, 2019, and published in The Garden Island newspaper on February 27, 2019. The hearing proceeded as follows: PUBLIC HEARING 2 MARCH 27, 2019 BILL NO. 2736 AND BILL NO. 2737 SCOTT K. SATO, Deputy County Clerk: We received no written testimony and have no registered speakers. Council Chair Kaneshiro: Seeing no one in the audience, this public hearing for Bill No. 2736 and Bill No. 2737 is adjourned. Our Council Meeting is done for today. We will be back tomorrow with Budget at 9:00 a.m. We will be back in Executive Session for the rest of the day. Thank you.
