A public hearing of the Council of the County of Kaua`i was called to order by
Arryl Kaneshiro, Chair, Committee of the Whole, on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at
5 00 p.m., at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Historic County
Building, Lihu`e, and the presence of the following was noted-

Council Chair Kaneshiro. Good evening, I would like to thank everyone
for joining us for our Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Budget Public Hearings Today, we will
hold our public hearings for the Real Property Tax Resolution, Operating Budget, and
CIP Budget for Fiscal Year 2020-2021. Jade, could you please read the various
notices for each public hearing all together at the beginning Please also read the
notice for the Real Property Tax Resolution that you are required to read pursuant to
the Kaua`i County Code 1987, as amended Jade, could you also let us know how
many pieces of written testimony we received for each item when you read the notice

hearings will be conducted pursuant to Governor Ige's Supplementary Emergency
Proclamation dated March 16, 2020, Sixth Supplementary Emergency Proclamation
dated April 25, 2020, and Seventh Supplementary Emergency Proclamation dated
May 5, 2020 We have no registered speakers We received two (2) written
testimonies on Resolution No. 2020-16, one (1) written testimony for Bill No. 2779,
and no written testimony for Bill No. 2780. Pursuant to Section 5A-6 3 of the Kaua`i
County Code 1987, as amended, the Kaua`i County Council hereby announces its
intention to fix the Real Property Tax Rates for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 on
June 3, 2020 at 8.30 a m or soon thereafter in the Council Chambers located at
4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Lihu`e, Kaua`i, Hawaii.
The Clerk read the notice of the public hearing on the following-

IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR JULY 1, 2020 TO JUNE 30, 2021 (Fiscal Year 2020-2021 CIP
Budget),"
which were ordered to print by the Council of the County of Kaua`i on
March 25, 2020, and published in The Garden Island newspaper on April 2, 2020.

The hearing proceeded as follows.
Council Chair Kaneshiro. Thank you, Jade We are now open for public
testimony through remote technology We are asking the public to contact us at least
one (1) hour prior to the meeting to let us know that they want to testify They can
do that be E-mailing us at cokcouncil@kauai gov or by calling the Office at 241-4188
We do have our Decision-Making meeting on Friday at 9 00 a m , so if anyone does
want to testify, they can call in We have just started to allow oral testimony via
remote technology. We are going to continue that through this emergency period
With that, not having any members of the public signed up to remotely testify, this
public hearing is now adjourned
There being no further testimony, the public hearing adjourned at 5.05 p.m.
