G. Business CRC 2022-20 Report/Presentation by Strategies 360, discussion, and
possible action on public education digital campaign.
John White, Senior Vice President, Strategies 360 went over the presented
report on the public education digital campaign (on file) completed for the
commission.
The Commissioners engaged in discussion with Mr. White asking
questions on what can be improved on and recommendations. They
discussed using other forms of media, including print media that could
have a QR code that people could scan. He emphasized that you have 5-7
seconds to get the attention of people and that you want ads to be fresh,
quick, easily accessible. They discussed that many voters were probably
using their phones to look at the digital media and how voters may have
sat down and discussed ballot items with others while voting. They
thought that people may have seen an ad on social media and went back to
it to get more information and clarity once the ballot arrived. They pointed
out that voter turnout for Kaua’i was best in the State, but less than the
previous election year in the County.
