MAY 13, 2022
The Special Council Meeting of the Council of the County of Kaua`i was called
to order by Council Chair Arryl Kaneshiro at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street,
Suite 201, Lihu`e, Kaua`i, on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 9:00 a.m., after which the
following Members answered the call of the roll:
Honorable Bernard P. Carvalho, Jr.
Honorable Mason K. Chock (via remote technology)
Honorable Felicia Cowden
Honorable Bill DeCosta
Honorable Luke A. Evslin (via remote technology)
Honorable KipuKai Kuali`i
Honorable Arryl Kaneshiro
APPROVAL OF AGENDA.
Councilmember Kuali`i moved for approval of the agenda, as circulated,
seconded by Councilmember Carvalho.
Council Chair Kaneshiro: Is there anyone in the audience or on Zoom
wishing to testify?
There being no objections, the rules were suspended to take public testimony.
There being no one present to provide testimony, the meeting was called back
to order, and proceeded as follows:
Council Chair Kaneshiro: None. Are there any questions or discussion
on this item from the Members?
The motion for approval of the agenda, as circulated, was then put, and
unanimously carried.
Council Chair Kaneshiro: The motion is carried. Next item.
COMMUNICATION:
C 2022-101 Communication (05/05/2022) from the Mayor, submitting his
Supplemental Budget Communication for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 and Proposed
Amendments to the Budget Bills, pursuant to Section 19.02A of the Kaua`i County
Charter.

Councilmember Cowden moved to schedule public hearing on May 25, 2022 at
8:30 a.m. and refer to the June 1, 2022 Council Meeting, seconded by
Councilmember Carvalho.
Council Chair Kaneshiro: Is there anyone in the audience or on Zoom

There being no objections, the rules were suspended to take public testimony.
There being no one present to provide testimony, the meeting was called back
to order, and proceeded as follows:

The motion to schedule public hearing on May 25, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. and refer to
the June 1, 2022 Council Meeting was then put, and unanimously carried.
ADJOURNMENT.
There being no further business, the Special Council Meeting adjourned at
9:03 a.m.
