NOTICE OF PUBLICATION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the County of Kaua`i will hold a
public hearing on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., or soon thereafter,
at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Room 201, Historic County Building,
Lihu`e, on the following:
Bill No. 2890
A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. B-2022-886,
AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE
COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
JULY 1, 2022 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2023, BY REVISING THE AMOUNTS
ESTIMATED IN THE PUBLIC ACCESS, OPEN SPACE, NATURAL
RESOURCES PRESERVATION FUND (OSC Waipa Foundation Acquisition
of Halulu Fishpond)
This Bill proposes to amend Ordinance No. B-2022-886, as amended, relating
to the Operating Budget of the County of Kaua`i, State of Hawai`i, for the Fiscal
Year July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, by revising the amounts estimated in the Public
Access Fund by appropriating $850,000.00 from Equity / Fund Balance — Assigned
to Special Projects — Contribution to Waipa Foundation for Halulu Fishpond
acquisition, to provide additional funds necessary to enable the Waipa Foundation
to acquire a portion of Halulu Fishpond, which will permanently secure Waipa
Foundation's ability to continue its work to foster sustainability and community
through its various programs. The conveyance of a conservation easement owned
by the property pertaining to the fishpond would also solidify conservation of that
natural resource.
All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the
public hearing. Written testimony prior to the hearing would be appreciated.
Written testimony can be submitted to the Office of the County Clerk, Council
Services Division by mail, facsimile, or via E-mail to counciltestimony@kauai.gov.
Copies of this Bill is available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services
Division.
The Council Committee or Council may amend this Bill at their subsequent
meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least six (6) days in advance at the County
Clerk's Office and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
