DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR News Release For Immediate Release: February 4, 2023 COUNTY OF KAUA‘I KAUA‘I EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ELTON USHIO, ADMINISTRATOR (808) 241-1800 12:55 PM UPDATE: Flash Flood Warning canceled for Kaua‘i; Kūhiō Highway near Hanalei Bridge remains closed The National Weather Service has canceled a Flash Flood Warning for Kaua‘i. However, a Flash Flood Advisory is in effect through 4 p.m. Kūhiō Highway near the Hanalei Bridge remains closed. Updates will be given when the road reopens. In addition, numerous roadways on the island have been affected due to heavy rains. Hauaala Road at Keapana Bridge is now open, according to Kaua‘i Police Department officials. Ponding, low visibility, and other hazardous driving conditions are expected. If you must drive, please do so with extreme caution. A community-led shelter at Hale Halawai remains open at this time. For updates on road conditions and closures, please call 808-241-1725. Please do not call Kaua‘i police 911 unless you have an emergency.
