BLANE, CHIEF OF STAFF (808) 241-4900 Free COVID tests available at County of Kaua‘i Neighborhood Centers March 7 to March 9 LĪHU‘E – The County of Kaua’i, in partnership with the Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office, announces the distribution of free COVID-19 home test kits at County neighborhood centers from March 7 to March 9. Approximately 7,500 COVID-19 home test kits will be distributed, with a limit of five tests per individual/household, on a first-come, first-served basis. Ending times for distribution sites will vary depending on how long supplies last. The distribution schedule will be as follows: Tuesday, March 7 - Hanalei Neighborhood Center – 9 a.m. - Kīlauea Neighborhood Center – noon Wednesday, March 8 - Waimea Neighborhood Center – 9 a.m. - Kalāheo Neighborhood Center – noon Thursday, March 9 - Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex – 9 a.m. - Kauaʻi War Memorial Convention Hall – noon Although the expiration date of these COVID tests is listed as February 2023, the tests have received a 7-month shelf-life extension from the FDA. They are set to expire in November 2023. For more information on testing, visit kauai.gov/COVIDtest. As a reminder, COVID-19 testing centers at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall and mobile van sites will close at the end of February. Free home COVID tests provided by the federal government are also available to households via mail by visiting covid.gov/tests or calling 1-800-232-0233. You may also find important updates and resources on the State Department of Health’s website, hawaiicovid19.com, or by calling the Kaua‘i District Health Office at 808-241-3495. If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, contact the Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency at 808-241-1800 and kema@kauai.gov as soon as possible.
