DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR News Release For Immediate Release: March 3, 2023 COUNTY OF KAUA‘I DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TROY TANIGAWA, COUNTY ENGINEER (808) 241-4993 Scrap metal not accepted at Līhu‘e refuse transfer station March 6 to March 10 LĪHU‘E – The Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division announces the Līhu‘e refuse transfer station (RTS) will not be accepting residential scrap metal for recycling from March 6 to March 10 due to equipment issues. Customers should transport their metal to the Puhi Metals Facility during this period. Puhi Metals is located at 951 Puhi Road in Līhu‘e and is open Monday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They can be reached at 808-245-6919. For more information, you may visit https://www.kauai.gov/metalrecycling. This is also a reminder that commercially-generated metal is not accepted at any refuse transfer station and must be transported to Puhi Metals directly.
