Public invited to submit nominations for 2023 Outstanding Older Americans
LĪHU‘E – The Agency on Elderly Affairs (AEA) invites the public to submit nominations for the
2023 Outstanding Older Americans recognition.
“Every May, during Older Americans Month, we pay tribute to older adults 65 years and older
who play vital, positive roles in our communities,” said Kealoha Takahashi, Executive for the Agency on
Elderly Affairs.
This year’s theme, “Aging Unbound,” offers an opportunity to explore diverse aging experiences
and discuss how communities can combat stereotypes about aging.
As AEA prepares to celebrate Older Americans Month in May, officials seek nominations for this
year’s Outstanding Older Americans recognition. Please join AEA in strengthening our community and
helping recognize and honor Kaua‘i’s outstanding older adults.
Nomination forms are available at the Agency on Elderly Affairs, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m.
to 4 p.m. The AEA is located at the Līhu‘e Civic Center, Pi‘ikoi Building, Suite 330. Interested individuals
must call the AEA at 808-241-4470 to access the building. Nomination forms can also be emailed by
contacting AEA at 808-241-4470 or elderlyaffairs@kauai.gov.
The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, March 17, by the close of business.
If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, call 808-241-
4470 as soon as possible. Requests made as early as possible will allow adequate time to fulfill your
request. Upon request, this notice is available in alternate formats such as large print, Braille, or
electronic copy.
