Water service is being turned off for 5 to 6 hours, beginning at approximately 9 p.m. this evening, due to a recent main line break in the area. Additionally, a partial lane closure on Kuhio Highway; between Aleka Loop and the Waipouli Bridge will be in place to create a safe work zone and conduct repairs to the water main line. Motorists will be directed to merge onto a single lane to continue traffic flow in the area. The affected water service area includes customers located along a portion of Kuhio highway; between the northern intersection of Aleka Loop to the Waipouli Bridge, Pouli Road, Kamoa Road and includes the Waipouli Town Center. Customers are advised to prepare for the shutdown by taking the following steps: Customers in the affected service area may prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps: • Store water to meet their needs until service can be safely restored. • Notify neighbors, family and friends about the service shutdown. • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the service shutdown.
