Life’s Choices Kaua‘i co-hosting mental health and wellness conference
with partnering agencies
LĪHU‘E – The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Life’s Choices Kauaʻi Program
announces a mental health and wellness conference, Ola Pono O Kauaʻi, will be held
June 7 and June 8, at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.
The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days.
Life’s Choices Kaua‘i is co-hosting the conference with its partners the Hawai‘i
Department of Health, the Kauaʻi Rural Health Association, Kauaʻi Planning and
Action Alliance, Kauaʻi Resilience Project, and Keiki to Careers.
“We are excited that this year we were able to expand the former Life’s Choices Drug
Summit into a two-day event that focuses not just on drug use and prevention, but
also covers important topics on mental health and well-being which are vital to the
continued safety of Kaua‘i and our people,” said County of Kauaʻi Prosecuting Attorney
Rebecca Like.
“Mental health resources are needed nationwide, but especially on Kauaʻi,” says Life’s
Choices Coordinator Michael Miranda. “Not only are families unaware of the services
and innovation happening on island, but we also need more psychologists,
psychiatrists, and other professionals to serve Kauaʻi and Niʻihau.”
The two-day event will feature presentations by mental health industry leaders and
elected officials on cutting-edge practices. Information and resource tables will also be
available, along with a job fair that will be held on June 8. The event is free and open
to the public.
Registration for the event is required and can be completed at
