DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR News Release For Immediate Release: January 6, 2023 COUNTY OF KAUA‘I DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TROY TANIGAWA, COUNTY ENGINEER (808) 241-4993 Lane closures scheduled for portions of Kōloa and Wailua Jan. 9 and Jan. 10 The Department of Public Works and its contractor Hirata and Associates, are announcing that portions of Kōloa and Wailua will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 to 10. One-lane closures will occur at the following locations and dates:  Weliweli Road, between Waikomo Road and Ala Kinoiki, on Jan. 9;  Haleilio Road, between Eggerking Road and Nonou Road, on Jan. 9;  Ulu Street, between Ohia Street and Olohena Road, on Jan. 10; and  Waipouli Road, between Olohena Road and Kainahola Road, on Jan. 10. As part of the County’s Island-Wide Road Resurfacing Project, these one-lane closures are necessary to conduct surveying, including soil investigation and asphalt coring for future road resurfacing work. One lane will remain open to accommodate alternating traffic in both directions. Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at both ends of the work zone to direct traffic.
