JUNE 12, 2024
A public hearing of the Council of the County of Kaua`i was called to order by
Mel Rapozo, Chair, Committee of the Whole, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at
8:34 a.m., at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Historic County
Building, Lihu`e, and the presence of the following was noted:
Honorable Addison Bulosan
Honorable Bernard P. Carvalho, Jr.
Honorable Felicia Cowden
Honorable Bill DeCosta
Honorable Ross Kagawa
Honorable KipuKai Kuali`i
Honorable Mel Rapozo
The Clerk read the notice of the public hearing on the following:
"Bill No. 2921 — AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. B-2023-891, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE
OPERATING BUDGET OF THE COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2023 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2024, FOR THE
PURPOSES OF FUNDING EMERGENCY EXPENDITURES CAUSED BY
HEAVY RAINS AND SEVERE FLOODING WHICH STARTED ON
APRIL 11, 2024, BY REVISING THE AMOUNTS ESTIMATED IN THE
GENERAL FUND,"
which was passed on first reading and ordered to print by the Council of the County
of Kauai on May 15, 2024, and published in The Garden Island newspaper on
May 23, 2024.
Council Chair Rapozo: Do we have anyone registered to remotely
testify? Do we have any written testimony? Are there any registered speakers? Is
there anyone in the audience wishing to testify? Seeing none, this public hearing is
closed.
(Note: No one from the public testified on the Bill via written testimony or oral
testimony taken at the beginning of the meeting via the Zoom remote
technology platform.)
There being no one present to testify on this matter, the public hearing
adjourned at 8:35 a.m.
