RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 18 (1991) AND
AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY ATTORNEY TO INVESTIGATE, SETTLE,
AND PAY CLAIMS AGAINST THE COUNTY OF KAUA'I
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF KAUA'I, STATE
OFHAWAI'I:
SECTION 1. With approval from the County Attorney, the authorized
administrator of the County of Kaua'i's workers' compensation claims may
investigate, settle, and pay workers' compensation claims against the County up to
fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00), provided that sufficient appropriations are
available for such settlements.
SECTION 2 . The County Attorney is authorized to investigate , settle,
and pay all claims filed against the County of Kaua'i where such claims amount to
fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) or less, provided that sufficient appropriations
are available for such settlements.
SECTION 3. The County Attorney shall submit to the Council of the
County of Kaua'i a quarterly report of all claims settled pursuant to this Resolution.
The report shall include the claimant's name, nature of the claim, amount requested,
settlement amount, and any remedial actions or recommendations to minimize the
recurrence of similar claims.
SECTION 4.
SECTION 5.
That Resolution No. 18 (1991) is repealed in its entirety.
This resolution shall take effect upon its approval.
