HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2026-07COUNTY COUNCIL COUNTY OF KAUA'l ~eso I uttonNo. 2026-07 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HAWAI'I STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES SLATE OF OFFICERS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2026 WHEREAS, the Hawai'i State Association of Counties ("HSAC") is comprised of members of the four county councils of the State of Hawai'i and shall be headed by an Executive Committee consisting of a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, none of whom shall be members of the same council; and WHEREAS, at its meeting held on January 21, 2026, the HSAC Executive Committee approved the following proposed slate of HSAC officers for calendar year 2026: President: Vice President: Secretary: Treasurer: Tamara Paltin, Maui County Council Shane Sinenci (Alternate) Heather Kimball, Hawai'i County Council Jennifer Kagiwada (Alternate) Bernard P. Carvalho, Jr., Kaua'i County Council Felicia Cowden (Alternate) Matt Weyer, Honolulu City Council Esther Kia'aina (Alternate); and WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee also approved the foregoing officers to serve for a term ending no later than January 31, 2026; and WHEREAS, the HSAC Bylaws require that each council act on the proposed slate of HSAC officers; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF KAUA'I, STATE OF HAWAI'I, that it hereby approves the proposed slate of HSAC officers for calendar year 2026, with a term ending date of no later than January 31, 2026. 1 BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted to the President of the HSAC Executive Committee.
