PUBLIC WORKS/ELI}ERLY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
December 9, 2009
A meeting of the Public Works/Elderly Affairs Cammittee of the Council of
the County of Kauai, State of Hawaii, was called to order by Councilmember
Tim Bynum, Chair, at the Historic County Building, Room 201, Lihu`e, Kauai, on
Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at 1:36 p.m., after which the following members
answered the call of the roll:

TIM BYNUM: I call to order this meeting of the Public
Narks/Elderly Affairs Cammittee. Let the retard reflect that all members are
present and this Cammittee will be held in recess until later today.
There being no objections, the Cammittee recessed at 1:36 p.m.
The Cammittee reconvened at 4:46 p.m., and proceeded as follows:
Mr. Bynum: I call this meeting of Public WorkslElderly
Affairs back to order. V~'e have two {2) items, the first is minutes of Navember 25,
2009 Public Warks/Elderly Affairs Cammittee Meeting if I could have a motian to
approve.
Minutes of the November 25, 2009 Public Warks/Elderly Affairs Cammittee
Meeting.
DARYL W. KANESHIRO: Sa moved.
DICKIE Ck[ANG: Seconded.
Mr. Bynum: All those in favor?
Cammittee Members: Aye.
Upon motian duly made by Councilmember Kaneshira, and seconded by
Councilmember Chang, and unanimously carried, the Minutes of the
Navember 25, 2009 Public Warks/Elderly Affairs Cammittee Meeting was
approved.
Mr. Bynum: Seeing Wane opposed, motian carries and if
the clerk can read Bill 2332.
The Cammittee praceeded on its agenda items as follows, and as shown in the
fallowing Cammittee reports which are incorporated herein by reference:
BILL NO. 2332 A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE
AMENDMENT CHAPTER 12, ARTICLE 6,
KAUAI COUNTY CODE 1987 RELATING
TO THE ENERGY CODE
[This item was deferred.]
Mr. Bynum: I would call for members of the public but I
don't see any so, just let me say that there are some amendments prepared for this
bill along the lines that we discussed but I know some Councilmembers want to ask
questions of the Public Works folks, who are not available this afternoon so I'll be
seeking for a deferral in order for them to be able to answer questions about
proposed amendments.
DEREK S. K. KAWAKAMI: Moved to defer.
DARYL W. KANESHIRO: Seconded.
Mr. Bynum: All those in favor?
Committee Members: Aye.
Mr. Bynum: Motion carries. Being no further business
the Public Works/Elderly Affairs Committee is adjourned.
Upon motion duly made by Councilmember Kawakami, and seconded by
Councilmember Kaneshiro, and unanimously carried, Bill No. 2332 was
deferred.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:48p.m.
