COMMUNICATIONS: C 2005-Z8Z Communication (08/ 11/Z005) from Council Chair Bill "Kaipo" Asing and Vice Chair James Iunane Tokioka, transmitting for Council consideration, a resolution requesting that the Attorney General lend support by urging the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse their decision that the admission policy of the Kaniehanieha Schools is racially discriminatory. (See Resolution No. 2005-49) C 2005-Z83 Communication (07/Z8/Z005) from the Chief, Engineering Division, Department of Public Works, transmitting for Council approval, a bill aniending Chapter 15, Article 1, of the Kauai County Code 1987, relating to Flood Plain Management. (See Proposed Draft Bill No.2140) RESOLUTION: Resolution No. 2005-49, RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO LEND THE FULL SUPPORT OF HIS OFFICE TO URGE THE REVERSAL OF THE NINTH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS' DECISION THAT THE ADMISSION POLICY OF THE IiAMEHAMEHA SCHOOLS IS RACIALLY DISCRIMINATORY Special Council Meeting - 2 - August 17, 2005 BILL FOR FIRST READING: Proposed Draft Bill No. 2140 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FLOOD PLAIN MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE, CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 1, OF THE KAUAI COUNTS CODE 1987, TO ADOPT SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREA REGULATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pursuant to Haw. Rev. Statutes ("H.R. S. ~') Chapter 92-7(a), the Council may, when deemed necessary, hold an executive session on any agenda item without written public notice if the executive session was not anticipated in advance. Any such executive session shalt be held pursuant to H. R. S. Chapter 92-4 and shall be limited to those matters exempted by H. R. S. Chapter 92-5(a).
