Engineer, Department of Water, transmitting for Council
information, the Department of Water's quarterly financial

C 2004-19Z Communication (06/0'Z/'Z004) from the Mayor, submitting a
correction for the teilu expiration date for Benjaniin E. Lizania,
who was appointed to the County Board of Review. (See later

Council information, his re-appointment of Judith E.

C'Z004-194 Communication (04/07/'Z004) from the Executive on Aging,
requestuig Council approval to apply for, accept, and expend
federal funds in the amount of $93,840 for the Senior
Community Service Employment Program for the period of
July 1, 'Z004 through June 30, 'Z005.
C 'Z004-195 Communication (05/ 17/'Z004) from the Executive on Housing,
requesting Council approval to apply for, receive and expend
$497,050 in Economic Development Initiative (EDI) grant funds,
provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD), for the West Iaua`i Technology Centers.
C'Z004-196 Communication (06/04/'Z004) from the Executive on Housing,
requesting Council approval to apply for, receive and expend a
$108,'Z34 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing And
Urban Development, which will be utilized to fund an existing
Housing Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator position and
applicable fringe benefits, and an additional Fancily Self-
Sufficiency Homeownership position.
C'Z004-197 Communication (06/07/'Z004) from the Executive Assistant to
the Mayor (Golf Course), requesting Council approval to
purchase a portable table lift for the Wailua Golf Course
mechanic, for approximately $3,'Z81.18 from the Light
Equipment Account.
C'Z004-198 Communication (06/0'Z/'Z004) from the Chair of the Salary
Commission, submitting for Council consideration, three (3)
resolutions proposing Charter Amendments relating to the
salaries of the Councihuembers, the Mayor, and all officers and
employees included in Section 3-'Z.1 of the Iaua`i County Code
1987, as amended.
C 'Z004-'Z03 Communication (06/ 10/'Z004) from the Director, Offices of
Community Assistance, requesting Council approval to apply
for, accept and expend federal fiords in the amount of
$497,950, which will be used to provide supportive social
services, congregate and home delivered nutrition services, as
well as preventive health and caregiver services from July 1,
2004 to June 30, 'Z005 by the Agency on Elderly Affairs.

EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pursuant to Haw. Rev. Stat. ("H.R.S.") ~9Z-7(a), the
Council may, when deemed necessary, hold an executive session on any
agenda item without written public notice if the executive session was not
anticipated in advance. Any such executive session shall be held pursuant to
H.R.S. ~9Z-4 and shall be limited to those items described in H.R.S. ~9Z-5(a).

ES-lZ6 Pursuant to Haw. Rev. Stat. Sections 9'Z-4 and 9Z-5(a)(4), the
purpose of this executive session is to consult with the County's
legal counsel on questions and issues relating to negotiations with
Primatech Construction Company for the repair of Kilauea
Gymnasium's roof. This consultation involves consideration of the
powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and/or liabilities of the
Council and the County as they relate to this agenda item.

ES-14Z Pursuant to Haw. Rev. Stat. ~~9Z-4 and 9Z-5(a)(4), the purpose of
this executive session is to approve the County Attorney's
recommendation for an additional appropriation for special counsel
in Stanley Kua v. County of Kauai, Civ. No. OZ-OOZ86 SPIT/KSC
(U.S. District Court, District of Hawai`i). This consultation involves
consideration of powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and/or
liabilities of the Council and the County as they relate to this
agenda item.
ES-143 Pursuant to Haw. Rev. Stat. ~~9Z-4 and 9Z-5(a)(4), the purpose of
this executive session is to approve the County Attorney's
recommendation for an additional appropriation for special
counsel in Robert and Keiko Lansdell vs. County of Kauai, et al.
Civil No. 00-1-O1Z5, S.C. No. 26415. This consultation involves
consideration of powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and/or
liabilities of the Council and the County as they relate to t11is
agenda item.

ES-144 Pursuant to Haw. Rev. Stat. ~~9Z-4 and 9Z-5(a)(4), the purpose of
this executive session is to approve the County Attorney's
recommendation for an additional appropriation for special
counsel in Jacquelyn Ii. Tokashiki vs. George Freitas, County of
Kauai, et al., Civil No. 0'Z-1-0086 (Fifth Circuit Court) and
Jacquelyn K. Tokashiki vs. George Freitas, Civil No. CV 03-00065
ACI/LEI (U.S. District Court). This consultation involves
consideration of powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and/or
liabilities of the Council and the County as they relate to this
agenda item.
